                    group counseling and baccalaureate program planning. Exposure to career

                  CSS 300 Introduction to Crop Production (4); FALL    Linked for topics
                    Fundamental principles, concepts, and illustrative examples relative to the
                    selection, planting, management, quality, rotation, and improvement of agronomic
                    crops.

                    Prerequisite: General biology or botany sequence.

                  CSS 310 Forage Production (4); SPRING
                    Importance of and current production practices for forage crops. Prerequisite:
                    CSS 300; CSS 305.

                  CSS 325 Difference Power and Discrimination in Agriculture (3);  FALL
                    Terms and credits to be arranged.

CSS 405 Native Plant Ecology Workshop(1 S/U grading only) Distance Ed.
Outdoor workshop involving native plant identification, techniques used in seed collection/replanting, soils, forest and rangeland ecology.

                  CSS 407 Seminar (1); SPRING
                    Senior seminar is intended to instruct students on proper techniques for
                    presentation of scientific material. Each student is expected to prepare and present
                    a scientific seminar and to submit written documentation supporting that seminar.
                    Graded P/N. Prerequisite: SPCH 112; Senior standing in agronomic sciences.

                  CSS 410 Internship
                    Professional work experience previously approved and supervised by the
                    depart-ment. Written report required.

                    Prerequisite: Junior standing, major students only; instructor consent.

                  CSS 430 Plant Genetics (3); WINTER
                    Theories and principles; polyploidy; qualita-tive and quantitative inheritance.

                    Prerequisite: CSS 300.
 

                  CSS 460 Seed Production (3); Winter 03
                    Management practices required for specialized seed production; physiological
                    aspects; biological characteristics of varieties; hybrid seed, and seed processing.

                    Prerequisite: CSS 300.
 

                  CSS 475 Agricultural Management of Oregon Soil Resources (2);  SPRING
                    Soil management research findings for crop production in eastern Oregon.

                    Prerequisites: CSS 300, 305, junior standing.
