The University

Eastern Oregon University opened its doors in 1929 as Eastern Oregon Normal School, a college for women studying to be teachers. The co-educational University is a member of the Oregon University System.

Where Are We?

EOU is located in La Grande in the heart of the Blue Mountain range between Portland and Boise just off interstate 84. Driving to La Grande takes approximately 4 hours from Portland, 3 from Boise, 5 from Seattle, and 4 from Spokane.
