OVERLOAD TEACHING LIMITS

Rationale:

Eastern Oregon University seeks to assure the high quality in all of its teaching. Further, given limitations on outside activity and related compensation established by the Oregon University System (OUS) for all OUS employees, we require clear guidance on how that OUS policy should be implemented with respect to teaching for Eastern Oregon University on an overload basis. The following policy is an implementation of the limitations of OUS policy on outside activities and related compensation for the area of teaching.

Policy

Overload teaching of Eastern courses by a regular, full-time instructional faculty member may not exceed one fourth of that faculty member's entire teaching load (including overload for purposes of this calculation) when that teaching load is considered over an academic year.
