In keeping with the institutional mission of promoting responsible and reflective action in a diverse and interconnected world, the university has provided funding for curriculum development initiatives around issues of gender, race/ethnicity, class, ability and sexuality. One such initiative is an Intensive Diversity Institute September 12-16, 2005 on the Eastern Oregon University campus. Competitive mini-grants will be awarded to ten faculty who meet eligibility requirements to participate in the Institute. These grants are directed toward two basic goals: 1) to improve the quality of student learning and development at Eastern Oregon University, and 2) to create a more inclusive scholarship, curriculum and pedagogy, where diversity is understood as essential to a well-rounded education.
We invite grant proposals that address race, class, gender, sexuality and ability from local, national and global perspectives. Faculty may submit proposals from a variety of areas, including (but not limited to) expanding the content of current curriculum, development of new course offerings, and development of faculty workshops. For complete information and application instructions, download the Microsoft Word document below.
