ALUM GIVES LARGEST GIFT IN EOU HISTORY 
Dr. David Huber, a 1974 graduate of Eastern Oregon University, grew up in La Grande near the university, and felt inspired and supported by the campus community from a very early age.
Mechanical devices always fascinated him. When he was five, he took apart a washing machine motor. When he was in the fifth-grade, he built his first electric motor. LOSO SCHOLARSHIP A GIFT FROM THE HEART
The retired professor emeritus and namesake of Mary Jane Loso Hall died at age 84 in December, but Dr. Mary Jane Loso’s legacy will live on in the form of a $50,000 scholarship endowment in the Eastern Oregon University Foundation. Following his aunt’s wishes, Keith Kragelund of Tacoma, Wa., presented the funds to EOU President Khosrow Fatemi and EOU Foundation President Carol Knopp April 14, 2005 during a reception in Loso’s honor in Nightingale Gallery.

SCHOLARSHIP PAYS TRIBUTE TO LOYAL ALUM
When Kristine Labernik graduated from Eastern Oregon University in 1994, she had beaten cancer once, and led a very full and active life. “Kristine was a joy to work with,” said Mindi McAllaster, previous director of development in University Advancement at EOU.
