Programs and Clinics The OHSU School of Nursing at Eastern is an exemplary model that blends the delivery of comprehensive, preventive nursing care to rural Oregonians with the specialized education of rural health nurses. Nurse faculty created and operate two nurse practitioner community-based primary care centers as well as the Health Network for Rural Schools serving five rural school districts. Nurse practitioner faculty operate EOU's student health service blending primary care with campus wellness programs. Nursing students are given the opportunity to practice in these unique health care settings. The School of Nursing administers the Healthy Start program in Union County. This program is dedicated to helping families locate services and information for new babies. The School of Nursing has developed and operates the Rural Frontier Delivery program which provides baccalaureate-level nursing education to place-bound students living in rural "frontier" counties.
