This applicant for a Summer Institute Fellowship has demonstrated a genuine interest in improving the learning of our students and will make a valuable contribution to the institute.

I realize the professional development opportunities this applicant would receive through the Oregon Writing Project will make this teacher an important resource for this district.

I also realize that this teacher, upon becoming an Oregon Writing Project Teacher Consultant at the end of the summer institute, will be required as part of Fellowship responsibilities to attend two follow-up sessions each year in order to continue growing professionally. I hereby commit to two days release time each year for the purpose of attending Oregon Writing Project meetings, in addition to any other release time guaranteed by the teacher's contract.
