Oregon Writing Project at Eastern
Invitational
Summer Writing Institute (6 graduate credits)
June 14 – July
8, 2005
- For kindergarten to college teachers in all content areas
- Focus on teacher as writer and demonstrating best practices for literacy
- Includes writers’ retreat in Joseph
- $800 stipend toward tuition
Application procedure: Send the following by April 8, 2005 to the address below.
- Letter describing your experience and
strengths as a teacher of writing or someone who employs writing to
teaching a content area.
- Current resume.
- Letter of recommendation and support from your principal or other district official indicating administrative support for your efforts to develop a writing program in your classroom and committing to two days of release time for you each year for writing project follow-up meetings, in addition to any other release time provided by the teacher's contract. (Sample letter available online.)
Selected participants will be acknowledged with a letter of confirmation, the date for a required orientation meeting, a contract, maps, and additional information.
