NEW BUSINESS

Minutes from last meeting approved as submitted.

No New 801s (Workman Comp report)

No new Safety Grams.

Ken Watson sent suggestion that committee put together a weapon's policy. Travis will draft a policy and he and Irene will present it to Vice President Morgan for the administration's input.

Irene was notified by SAIF that if Eastern has anyone working under the American Volunteer program, they must be covered under Eastern's Insurance. Irene will send a note via the Infoline, asking if anyone knows of any American Volunteers working on campus.

There was discussion regarding the difficulties of accessing the campus from the north side during bad weather. No solutions were reached. Discussions will continue.

OLD BUSINESS

The Disaster Drill is scheduled for November 28th at 10:30am. Travis will send follow-up memo to building managers, safety committee members and physical plant personnel with additional information regarding what is expected of each participant. Some questions have been expressed about assisting disabled individuals during the drills. Travis will pursue the matter further. Hoke will not participate in the Disaster Drill - there is a blood drive scheduled for that day. Alternative arrangements will be made with Hoke personnel for some individual training.

Loso Hall Shop Tech position has been approved and funded. It will be a 9-month position and finishing touches are being put on the position description. It is hoped that someone can be hired and start working by the beginning of Winter Term 2002.

Irene is finishing up the disaster plan and it should be completed soon.

The recommended policy concerning posting on doors and in entryways was discussed. Irene will check with Vice President Morgan regarding the status of that policy.

Next meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2001 at 11:00am in Hoke 301.
