NEW BUSINESS

Minutes from last meeting approved as submitted.

No new Safety Grams.

OLD BUSINESS

The Disaster Drill scheduled for November 28th at 10:30am was cancelled due to inclement weather. However, the level of preparedness was high. Travis commended C.J. Gish of University Advancement for his help in notifying the campus of the planned drill.

Paper drills will be implemented in the near future and another showing of the earthquake video will be scheduled as well.

Irene distributed a letter from Dara Decker, Union County Emergency Service Officer. Another disaster drill is scheduled for the spring and Eastern will coordinate with Ms. Decker in planning the drill.

Pick-up points have been identified in each building for assisting disabled persons in case of building evacuation. Building managers are being notified and maps will be updated.

According to Travis, warning signs will be posted on 8th Street hill and additional sanding is scheduled for slick areas. Mike Rhodes and Matt Graves are still pursuing options to increase safety on the sidewalks in that area.

Travis distributed copies of the Campus Weapons Policy. Committee members are asked to review the policy and send any corrections or changes to Travis.

Next meeting is scheduled for January 15, 2002 at 10:00am in Hoke 301.
