Present:   Helen, Jeff, Jeff, Bill, Bob, Irene, Tracy, Vicky, Steve

 

The meeting was called to order at 2pm.  

 

801s – One new 801 regarding an employee who pulled a muscle while shoveling snow.

 

Non – 801s – Two employees slipped on ice/snow.

 

Safety Grams – No new safety grams received.

 

Pending Safety Grams – Volleyball court issue still unresolved.

 

Update on Weapons Policy – Approved and ready to be added to the handbook.

 

Update on Last Month's Training – Conducted with Facilities staff on November 30, 2004.   They watched video presentations regarding accidents due to carelessness, blood borne pathogens, and safety as an attitude.   Bob does a tool seminar for students and adding the “safety as an attitude” video would be a good idea.

 

Review of Safety Manual – Irene has worked with Bud Hill regarding lock out/tag out policies.   Bud is to identify what need to be improved and will work with Irene to update this portion of the safety manual.   The Safety Committee will be reviewing Chapter 3 of the manual.   Irene will send out copies so the committee can discuss it at the next meeting.

 

Other Business – The will be an interim person working with environmental, health and safety issues on campus.   He will also be working with hazardous waste and other similar issues.   ASEOU has been contacted regarding student representation on the committee.   Building inspections have not started yet.
