Antonio Meda-Topete

Antonio de Jesus Meda - Topete was born in the town of Ayutla, Jalisco in Mexico on February 24 th 1985. He was the last child of Manuel Meda and Micaela Topete. He spent the first three years of his life on a ranch in Santa Barbara, Mexico. In 1988, his family decided to move to the United States after a four-year period of absence, due to Micaela’s pregnancy. Antonio’s desire to perform came from his first public shows put on by the Elementary School he attended (Benito Juarez) in California.  After an eight-year stay in California, his family decided to move back to Mexico. In Mexico, he was again given the chance to perform in front of an audience in plays and speeches. While attending school in Mexico, he performed with the Mexican Folkloric dance team and became the captain of the Male Volleyball team. After graduating in 2002, he was offered the chance to graduate from a U.S. high school, which he did in 2003 where he took drama classes to help him crossover from the Spanish speaking acting to an English performance. In the Fall of 2003, Antonio began attending Eastern Oregon University. While in an Acting I class, the theatre bug bit him and he decided to become a part of the program.
