Debbie Winn
Deborah Winn is pursuing a Bachelor's in Music in Vocal Performance at Eastern Oregon University. She has been studying voice under the direction of Dr. Peter Wordelman since 2001. Debbie is a member of the EOU Chamber Choir, The Grande Ronde Community Choir, and has performed in the EOU Music Department's Night on Broadway productions of "Titanic", "Parade", "A Broadway Review", and "Jekyll and Hyde". She has also performed in the Opera Night performance with the Portland Opera Works (2003), numerous recitals, and most recently, her Senior Vocal Recital. She won the 2005 Grande Ronde Aria/Concerto competition and had the priviledge of singing with the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra in February 2005. She was chosen to represent EOU at a national Musical Theatre competition sponsored by MENC in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the spring of 2004. Debbie has performed in three EOU Musical Theatre productions, "The Scarlet Pimpernel", "Nunsense", for which she won an Irene Ryan nomination, and "Another Broadway Christmas". Debbie is president of the EOU chapter of the Collegian Music Educators Association. She is an excellent student and was recently inducted in the Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society. She is also the founder and co-director of the Community School of the Arts at EOU. Debbie has an extensive background in music and drama. She has been playing the piano and singing most of her life, starting in church at age 7 and has been active in church music ever since. She performed in many dramas, musicals and choir concerts in high school and was listed in the Who's Who in Music in 1982. |
