Erin Kinzer

I was born in October of '85 on a farm ten miles south-west of Pullman Washington to Dean and Barbara Kinzer. I have one older sister, Joy who is in the Army. In school, I was mainly a music student (playing the flute and trombone) until I hit high school. My sophomore year, I was cast as Conrad in Mark Twain's A Mediaeval Romance and was also cast in Agatha Christie's The Patient, as Jenny Wingfield. From that point on I've participated in every production, with some of the highlights being Kiss Me Kate, Pageant, Dracula and A Midsummer Night's Dream. I also participated in Band and Choir through my highschool years, which led me to my Senior project (This is required of all graduating Seniors from Pullman High). For my Senior Project I wrote a female chorus piece, which was performed near the end of the school year, and I also wrote and directed a one-act play called A Place to Learn. Through my music teacher, Andrew Mielke, a graduate of Eastern Oregon University, I was able to explore EOU as a potential place to continue my education. I was also accepted to the University of Minnesota. I decided to come to EOU because it is closer to home, costs less, and is much smaller. I am currently working on a Music Education degree along with a Theatre degree. I plan to be a teacher at a high school level in the arts after graduating from college.
