John Hobson

John Hobson, a native of Ohio was born the fourth of five children to a Pentacostal minister. John's interest in theatre is a direct result of his involvment in church activities. His first acting roles were those portrayed in church Christmas dramas. His earliest acting memory is his depiction of the little drummer boy. These acting experiences soon fostered his present-day passion for the theatre. John later attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. While at Kent State, John took many Theatre classes and participated in several productions which included acting in "The Visit", "Hamlet", and the world premiere of "Bull Black". He stage managed "A Lie of the Mind", "Chamber Music" and the play, "Other Places" which traveled to the regional competition of the American College Theatre Festival. John's directing experiences include "On Tidy Endings", "As Is", and scenes from "One for the Road", "Biloxi Blues", and "In the Boom Boom Room". John was also responsible for the co-production of Kent State's 1989 student play festival.
